Hello My Lovelies,
I’m sorry, It’s been a while I know!
Although I did let you know in my last post that I got very behind with blogmas … anyway, I’m back now!
I had so much fun taking the pictures for this blog post as there is just so much colour to capture and Essie nail polishes are just gorgeous anyway!
If any of you follow me on Twitter you will know that I was dying to get my hands on the Essie advent calendar, although I just wasn’t willing to pay £80 for it … which I think is justifiable although I did definitely watch the calendar like a hawk.
It soon reached £50 …
Still not good enough for my liking so I thought I would risk it one last chance, and I soon found it had been reduced to £25!
So I’m assuming I’m not the only one who thought the price was a little unreasonable, but oh boy am I glad I waited.
The calendar itself came with 12 mini nail polishes, 7 full sized nail polishes and 4 little mystery pressies!
I have a pretty large collection of nail polishes but I’ve never been one for paying over £6 for a bottle, although for the Essie polish that I have tried so far … this may change!
*In order from the header photo*
Disco Doll (Pink Glitter)
Fifth Avenue (Red/Orange)
Fishnet Stockings (Burgundy/Red)
Mink Muffs (Brown)
Luxedo (Dark Purple)
I literally love all of these colours although my only issue is that Luxedo and Licorice are really hard to tell apart, I feel like with an advent calendar like this you would expect a variety of colours and not two which look pretty much identical … but I have to admit that’s my only issue with the calendar!
The four mystery bits were 2 nail separators, a 25 ml bottle of nail varnish remover, a buffer block and that stick that I don’t even know the name off or what it’s for!
There’s also a collection of the polishes you never want to buy yourself, well I never want to anyway!
Mini Gel Setter
(Which is by far my favourite top coat)
Mini All in One
Mini colour corrector
Mini Apricot Oil
(This oil smells amazing, I cannot stop using it)
There was also another red included in the calendar called Rock The Runway.
To finish the post off, we have the mini polishes;
487 Sil Vous Play Hero (Pink/Lilac Glitter)
14 (Light Pink0
201 Bobbing for Baubles (Black/Grey)
456 Glow Your Own Way
457 In the Mood Ring (Black & Gold Glitter)
Overall I think the calendar was originally overpriced, but I’m so happy I got it at a discounted price because it was so worth it!
After seeing what was included, I would have probably paid £50 for it.
After trying Essie polishes for the first time, I can definitely say that I’m a fan, although I just wish there was more of a colour range within the calendar!
Stay Weird … X
