Rainy Day Blues

Hello My Lovelies,

I hope you’re all doing well. Sorry for the lack of post last week, I was in Portugal and it didn’t feel quite right posting this blog post.

But now … is PERFECT.

Now I’m sat inside looking out the window, only to see an incredibly gloomy day. Let me tell you … I can’t wait to get into my pj’s, stick on a good film and light up my room with my candles & fairy lights.

We’ve all been in that situation where you have planned to take the dog out for a nice long walk or have a barbeque and the weather just goes to shit … with a click of your fingers it goes from being a lovely and bright, to being gloomy and wet.

Here are some of my ideas for days like that, whether you do it alone or with friends and family. I feel like everyone will find something that will work for them.

Clear out your wardrobe

If you’re anything like me … you have too many clothes. I’m definitely what you would call a shopaholic. I find clearing out my clothes very therapeutic.

You can sell them, donate them or even pass them down to your younger sibling.

Window Shop

Trust me. No explanation is needed!

Build a fort

I may be 20 years old but I’m a child at heart and I feel like you really need to keep hold of that because sometimes it can help you along with the journey of becoming an adult.

You can literally use anything around your house – Go get Creative!!

Have a Movie Marathon

“I am a movie & tv fanatic and self proclaimed couch potato”.

Snacks, blankets & Netflix. Thats all you need for a successful movie marathon.

I know your going to read this one and just laugh at it, because come on who would optionally workout? Funny enough I find it quite relaxing (in the confines of my rooms 4 walls) and it kills time more than you would think.

Board Games

This is mine and jays favourite way to kill. Theres one game especially that we love playing each other at, although we’ve played it so much that I feel we’re just learning the questions.

So baking is one of my favourite things to do, any excuse to bake something and I will. Even if you’re not good at baking, the more practice you put in the better you’ll get. I also find with most of your ingredients for baking, you will always have left overs … so its perfect for your next ‘lockdown’ in the rain.

So I may have a little bit of a problem. I have been known to go on Pinterest just to get some outfit Inspo and 3 hours later, its dark and I’ve got 5 new boards.

Make a list

Just because the day you had planned for today didn’t work out, doesn’t mean you can’t make a list of the things you need/want todo the next day.

Play the Sims

Whether you own the newest sims or you still play the sims 2 life story, which is 100% just me. I have just started playing it and I guess I’m kind of addicted, I mostly do it so I can build and decorate the houses, although I’m hoping for the newest sims for my birthday, because it looks AMAZING!!

Go on a Drive

Just because its wet out, doesn’t mean you can’t go out. You can go for a drive with your mates or family and listen to music. Drive somewhere you’ve never been before.

 Binge Watch a Netflix Show

I know Im not the only one who can sit through a whole series on Netflix in one sitting, I feel like this is sometimes one of the best ways to kill time, especially when you get hooked.

You see that pile of washing building in the corner of your room.

Go do it! Or you’ll never get round to doing it.

This has to be one of the best things ever when you’re bored. Jay & I do them all the time, he’ll usually do the football related quizzes (i.e. how many goals has Sanchez scored in 2017, but you also see some real weird quizzes on FB … trust me you end up going to that weird corner in the internet which no one likes to talk about.

Get Creative

This I can’t say I do too often because I don’t believe I’m very creative, but this is a great idea & can really make the time wiz past. Whether its making a DIY headband or a scrapbook – This will definitely be the one for some people.

I know there are probably so many different things to do to cure boredom that I haven’t included, but I hope this helps you out a little!!

Stay Weird … X

This is a brilliant list of rainy / gloomy day activities! Although personally, I hate the sun and the heat so I live for gloomy days haha! I’m a big fan of having an entire bedroom clear out when there’s nothing to do (: it’s so productive! xxx
