Hello My Lovelies,
I hope you’re doing well!! Its Friday after all.
So the best thing about this post is that I’m posting it a couple of days before I go to Portugal.
This post is going to be a little bit of appreciation for my favourite time of the year autumn. I am 100% a cold weather person – I much prefer being cold.
I do love a bit of sun but I prefer the cosiness of autumn and ‘There’s only so many clothes you can take off, before it comes inappropriate – There’s no limit to how many you can add’.
So I’m just going to get started with what is getting me excited for the autumn.
As you know it’s this time of year where more and more burnt oranges, burgundies and reds are added to the shelves. The colour palette of autumn is one of the most beautiful, as the colours compliment each other so well.
I have never been the biggest fan of having more than one winter jacket but the more time I’m spending on Pinterest the more I’m realising that the right jacket can ‘make or break an outfit’ – Normally, I could have the cutest little outfit on and I would just cover it up with a big, warm winter coat because it’s so cold but I’ve now realised a cute little jacket can make the outfit go from 10 to 100. Real Quick. So I may have to invest this year.
Bobble hat, scarfs & boots – These are a few favourites of mine. In autumn my favourite accessories are my adorable cream bobble hat, my oversized red tartan scarf (it’s literally like a blanket) and my brown new look boots. My bobble hat makes every outfit look real cutesy as well as my tartan scarf adding that extra bit of warmth, without ruining the outfit. Boots are just my all-time favourite and especially brown/burgundy boots, as they can add a splash of colour to any basic outfit.
You guys probably thing I’m Cuckoo already … which I completely understand, but I love the dark nights, heavy rain & cold winds that can make any nose turn to pink.
Obviously, I’m just like everyone else when it comes to this (I think) – if I’m caught outside in the rain … I will be less than happy but it’s so cozy when you’re wrapped up inside, whilst listening to the heavy downfall of rain.
Whether its Costa, Starbucks or Maccy d’s there are flavoured drinks everywhere ‘my, oh my’ that is a weakness of mine. Theres a costa counter where I work and the autumnal drinks are irresistible. Mint hot chocolate, honeycomb lattes and salted caramel cappuccinos …
+ They also make for cute Insta photos.
Food, food, Irresistible food
Here goes another unpopular opinion of mine – I’m okay with only having a roast dinner once a year. Now don’t get me wrong, I love a good roast but it always tastes the best on Christmas day. It feels more special this way, for me anyway.
What I’m talking about here is the crackers, pate and of course cheese boards. Duck pate is just too good for words!!! Our household is normally eating this as a diet for a good couple of weeks surrounding Christmas – as well as, too much gifted chocolate.
+The chocolates and sweets are inevitable.
I’m a celebrity, get me out of here
This probably seems like a real bizarre reason to look forward to in autumn, but its legit like one of my favourite programmes. It’s also something that I watch every year with my mum and step dad, unless someone’s working late then we catch up one by one.
It’s a nice build up leading towards Christmas as well – some people probably think this is still too early but I really don’t care.
TV & Film
Leading on from the above TV this time of year is full of cozy programmes & heart-warming films. Even if you don’t have the film channels, there is normally a new film every day/night on the satellite channels.
Netflix & Now TV are also full of Christmassy films – which I watch to death during this time of year. I think it’s safe to say that I will not watch anything else during the Christmas period – unless it’s Christmas related or of course blogmas on YouTube (especially Zoella).
Anyway I feel like that’s enough of my ramblings for tonight.
